Day 1: Flight to Guaviare
Arrival from your International flight at the Airport of San José del Guaviare. Customs formalities, then meet our staff. Drive to the city center for about 30 minutes to your hotel of choice but we recommend Hotel El Aeropuerto Guaviare since it’s 3 minutes from the airport.
Day 2: Sightseeing to the “Stone City” and the Rock Paintings of Nuevo Tolima
Breakfast at the hotel. Meet with your driver‐guide then hit the road to Nuevo Tolima, 22 km away, along the Nuevo Tolima road, a place that exhibits various inscriptions according to archaeologists and historians belonging to communities of origin belonging to communities of pre-Columbian origin 1,000 years ago. On the way, you visit “Ciudad de Piedra” or Stone City. Back to the hotel.
Day 3: Sightseeing at Estadero Picapiedra y Puentes Naturales
Our team will pick you up at your hotel after breakfast. Grab your camera and make your way to Picapiedra, 11 km from the capital of the department, on the road to Villavicencio. You will see unfathomable caverns in the vicinity of the La Lindosa mountain range, recommended by the locals. From there, the tour continues on foot through a nature trail.
Back to the hotel and spend the rest of the day at your leisure.

Day 4: Fresh dip in Guaviare’s natural wells
Breakfast at the hotel. Not distant from San José are the “Pozos Naturales”, an arrangement of lovely swimming gaps along a dazzling, clear stream. Thousands of years of disintegration have cleared out wide, profound gaps within the bed of the waterway, which are like normal jacuzzis within the otherwise shallow channel. Investing your entire day here, swimming within the gaps and bouncing from the riverbank may be an extraordinary way to unwind on a trip to Guaviare. Back to the hotel.
Day 5: Sightseeing to the “Puerta de Orión”
After breakfast at a local restaurant near the hotel, you venture to “La Puerta de Orión” or Orion Door, a treasure of geography within the center of the Colombian jungle. You will then transfer accommodation to Playa Guio—comfortable cabins on the edge of the forest, and perfect place to spend a night. Numerous species of birds are to be seen just in front of the cabins, and Howler Monkeys waking you up each morning, it’s a perfect way to get in touch with nature.
Day 6: Boat ride along Guaviare River
From Playa Guio, the driver-guide will take you to Malecón Turístico de San José del Guaviare and then you’ll get a boat where you’ll be served lunch. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure.
Upon request, the driver can take you souvenir hunting and then the airport.
