Day 1: Arrival and check in
Upon your arrival, proceed to your hotel, Hotel El Aeropuerto Guaviare, just outside the airport. Meet the team, settle into your room, and get some rest and relax (you can get to enjoy the hotel’s swimming pool if you wish) in preparation for your tour the following day.
Day 2: Sightseeing at Estadero Picapiedra y Puentes Naturales
Our team will pick you up at your hotel after breakfast. Grab your camera and make your way to Picapiedra, 11 km from the capital of the department, on the road to Villavicencio. You will see unfathomable caverns in the vicinity of the La Lindosa mountain range, recommended by the locals. From there, the tour continues on foot through a nature trail. Back to the hotel.
Day 3: Sightseeing the Ancient Rock Paintings in – Guaviare Cerro Azul, Nuevo Tolima & El Raudal
After breakfast, your driver-guide will pick you up and you’ll head over to the three principal sites where you can observe the ancient ‘cave’ paintings – Nuevo Tolima, Cerro Azul (also known as Cerro Pinturas), and El Raudal del Guayabero. Back to the hotel and then spend the rest of the day at your leisure.
Day 4: Refreshing dip at the Cascada Las Delicias
Breakfast at the local restaurant. Pack your swimsuit/s because you are up for a refreshing treat at the Las Delicias waterfall, a 27 m high waterfall, a place chosen by adventure sports fans. In the waterfall, located 17 km from the municipality, on the road to Villavicencio, it is possible to practice rappelling. You can encounter tapirs, monkeys, and tigrillos in the surroundings, among other animals, so don’t forget to grab your camera as well, preferably waterproof. Back to the hotel.
Day 5: Sightseeing to the “Puerta de Orión”
The driver will pick you up at the hotel. A perfect day to end your trip would be a visit to the famous “La Puerta de Orión” or Orion Door, a treasure of geography within the center of the Colombian jungle. You will need to walk in the jungle, ringed by tropical trees that lay their roots on the tall stones that surround the path.
Upon request, the driver can take you souvenir hunting and then the airport.
