Cartagena Colombia Tour 1

Day 1: Arrival and check-in

Upon your arrival, proceed to Hotel Caribe by Faranda Grand, this is the perfect place to view the Caribbean Sea. Meet the team, settle into your room, and get some rest and relax (you can get to enjoy the hotel’s swimming pool if you wish) in preparation for your tour the following day.

Day 2: Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas

Our team will pick you up at your hotel after breakfast. Grab your camera and make your way to witness its wonders. That is, Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas.

This might be the most incredible fortress ever built by the Spanish in any of their colonies and it’s a landmark within the city of Cartagena. There are tunnels within it specifically designed to allow even small sounds to travel well so that any intruders would be detected easily.

You can stroll through some of these dark passageways and make your way along the fort’s walls and battlements when you visit.

Day 3: Visit a Mud Volcano

Have you ever imagined bathing in mud before?  Well you’re in luck, for your next activity will be swimming at a mud volcano! Our team will pick you up after your complimentary breakfast in your hotel.

Before you leave, do not forget to bring your swimwear and camera with you.

It will take you 1 hour to get there, but it’s totally worth it.

Volcan de Lodo El Totumo (Mud Volcano) is a small volcano containing thick bubbling mud that you can bathe in. You climb inside the hill-like vat where you’ll float in the mud and even have the option of getting a quick massage.

Day 4: Exploring the street arts beyond the wall

Our team will pick you up after your complimentary breakfast, and will head to see street arts beyond the wall. Which is the neighborhood of Getsamani.  So don’t forget to bring your camera with you!

They are known for block after block of unique street art. The great starting point is an open-air art gallery on Murais de Getsemani.  Stroll up north, and you will see another street art, Arte Getsemani until you reach the Plaza de La Trinidad. You can also try their street foods.

Day 5: Museum Visit

Now that you’re done adoring the street arts outside the City. Your stay is incomplete without hitting up the wondrous museums in the City! Our team will pick you up after your breakfast.

First you’ll hit up the most visited museum which  is the Museo Naval del Caribe. A museum with exhibits on the Colombian Navy, plus the history and culture of the region.

A couple of walks from there and you will see Museo Carmona Cartagena. It’s where the work of the renowned sculptor and painter Edgardo Carmona is exhibited and commercialized located in the historic center of Cartagena de Indias, Colombia. It will also offer a series of recreational experiences, including painting, dance, games, cinema, coffee tastings and special liquors, conferences and conversations about history, music, art, literature, cinema and culture.

Day 6: Sunset viewing

A great place to start your evening is definitely at Cafe del Mar. Our team will pick you up in the afternoon.

Good for lounging whilst enjoying the sunset. The drinks are pricey but the view is definitely worth it. As the sun dips down into the Caribbean Sea leaving the sky in a pinkish glow as the music in the background warms the scene. What a wonderful stay indeed!
