Day 1: Arrival and check-in
Upon your arrival, please proceed to Clock Hostel and Suites, the nearest hotel from Rafael Núñez International Airport. They provide Wi-Fi, lockers and shared bathrooms; some add balconies. Private rooms come with flat-screen TVs, Netflix and en suite facilities. Breakfast is available. A cozy pub offering meals has a terrace and karaoke equipment. There’s also a hot tub.
Day 2: Visiting a Historical Landmark
After your complimentary breakfast, our team will pick you up. Do not forget to bring your camera as you will explore one of the historical landmarks in the city, which is perfectly near your hotel.
Plaza de La Proclamación, a historic plaza. Next you will hit up the Palace of the Inquisition Cartagena, another historical museum. This Spanish Baroque colonial-style villa is one of the most historically significant buildings in the old town of Cartagena. Be prepared because it will be a spooky tour.
You might want to eat and relax before you hit up the road again, we recommend Restaurante Mardeleva. A nice way to enjoy your food is to also have a nice environment around you, and they are just the perfect place for you.
A great way to end your day is to see some sunset view with well-preserved cannons from Colonial times. It’s not really a big fortress unlike the others, however it holds a lot of history.
Day 3: The largest fortress in the City
Well if yesterday’s fortress was not enough for you, this time our team will guide you to the largest colonial Spanish fortification in the City. You will be blown up by the wondrous view. So get your complimentary breakfast and grab your camera for more magnificent views.
Day 4: Exploring the Convent at the top of the mountain
Our team will pick you up after your breakfast and will head to Convento de la Popa. Well for a more fun trip, you have to take a short walk going up. A lot of tourists go there, the place is safe, there are patrol cars securing the area, and when you’re at the top of the mountain you can see the whole City of Cartagena.
Day 5: Swimming in the mud volcano
Have you ever imagined bathing in mud before? Well you’re in luck, for your next activity will be swimming at a mud volcano! Our team will pick you up after your complimentary breakfast in your hotel.
Before you leave, do not forget to bring your swimwear and camera with you.
It will take you 1 hour to get there, but it’s totally worth it.
Volcan de Lodo El Totumo (Mud Volcano) is a small volcano containing thick bubbling mud that you can bathe in. You climb inside the hill-like vat where you’ll float in the mud and even have the option of getting a quick massage.
Day 6: Walk along the City Walls
Our team will pick you up after lunch.
A perfect way to complete your beautiful stay in Cartagena is to walk along the City walls. It’s one of the most iconic landmarks. You can also buy some souvenirs.
From there, you will head to Plaza de La Aduana. It is a spacious plaza surrounded by colonial-era-buildings.
You might also want to hit up some crepes and waffles which is just a block away from the plaza.
